"The Teagle-Wabash Preparing Future Faculty project involves complementary research- and practice-based initiatives aimed at promoting the development of future faculty in religious studies and theology and at enhancing liberal education more generally.  The project addresses the question of future faculty preparation from two different, but closely related, directions, each underlined by a commitment to exploring teaching as vocation.  One stream of the project, funded by the Teagle Foundation, focuses on the mentoring of future faculty by experienced faculty so that their teaching integrates questions of value and meaning that strengthen liberal education. The second stream of the project, funded by the Wabash Center, aims to develop classroom teaching skills among doctoral students by providing skill-based training, encouraging collegial conversation on teaching and learning, and inviting reflection on the experience of faculty mentoring and supervised teaching practice."

I would personally like to acknowledge:

Project Research Associate Elizabeth Drescher, Ph.D.

Her ambitious inspiration, comprehensive research, and diligent efforts made this venture a reality. The fellows, mentors, and academy are truly indebted to her.  -SCB
